Students will evaluate and explain the role of budgeting in the administration of a
selected government or non-profit organizations. As part of the evaluation, students will describe
the fundamentals of the budget cycle in a government or non-profit organizations. Additionally,
students will identify the major sources of revenue for governments and major expenditures,
including the political impact of each. Students will apply their knowledge of best practices in
public budgeting by suggesting recommendations for how the organization may improve its
processes. Practitioners need to hone skills in both evaluation and application of knowledge to
develop enhanced budgeting skills.
INSTRUCTIONS
You will use the provided example Budget Project: Outline Example when completing this
assignment. The document can be found in the Budget Project: Outline Assignment page.
Your budget project outline must reflect the following:
Format as a basic alphanumeric outline
A length of two pages
The detail should be brief meaning only a sentence or two. You will elaborate on each
required component of the project in your final draft of the Budget Project.
