I have the intro already written and attached the despriciption I was given. I already have this written ”
While Dante’s Inferno is known as one of the most prolific epic poems of its time, The Inferno can also be classified as a love story. In the real world the author, Dante Alighieri, had a short but lingering history with a girl named Beatrice. Dante saw Beatrice for the first time at 8 years old and for the second and last time between 18 and 25 yet he was mesmerized. Now, in the poem, Beatrice plays a large role as the symbol of God’s love and all things good. The Inferno is a love story to Beatrice to symbolize the love that Dante has for her.
Even at the beginning of the Inferno Beatrice is already a symbol of hope for Dante. As Dante’s lost in the dark woods and faces the she-wolf, lion, and leopard, he almost gives up on saving his soul but Virgil, Dante’s master and guide, appears and states that “a Lady/ so blessed and so beautiful” (II.51-52), called on him to help Dante through his journey in Hell. Beatrice gives Dante the motivation and hope that’s needed to make this journey and save his soul as Beatrice watches him from Heaven.”
