After reviewing guidelines for the aforementioned assignment, as outlined in the course syllabus, students will submit a one-paragraph (150 words maximum) of their proposed organizational change phenomenon. Students will select a recent (2022-2023) organizational change phenomenon that has occurred in an organization—business or industry (legal entity, health industry, for example); non-profit or for-profit postsecondary institution (college or university); government agency—that you have become aware of through personal knowledge or based on the media. Change initiatives may include some of the following and need not be an organizational-wide change; the change may be localized within a corporate division, or institutional unit, for example. • Organizational policy (in areas such as, compulsory technology training; layoffs; budget systems; guidelines for working remotely, etc.) • Strategic plan • New marketing scheme in the industry (this may be the case in several sectors given the current economic situation) • Culture change (based on new leadership) • Change in governance structure within a postsecondary institution.
