How does knowing about the context help the reader more fully understand and appreciate the work? For example, how are the time, social atmosphere, and racial tensions of the 70s reflected in Sundiata’s poem “Blink Your Eyes; or what events from the early 1970s may have influenced Marge Piercy’s poem, “Barbie Doll”. Another approach would be to do some research on an author to see how his/her life experiences may be reflected in a story, poem, or play. You should have at least 3 reliable sources (Internet sources may be used). Be sure to cite sources according to MLA (see text for this). The emphasis must be on the relationship of the information you found to a specific work
