Memo to Myself Assignment Instructions
Overview
Critical reflection after learning is an important part of the learning skill set needed by adult learners in order to navigate graduate theological education successfully. This exercise is intentionally designed to encourage your critical reflection about what you have learned throughout the course.
Instructions
After you have completed all of the assignments for the course, find a time when you can review and rehearse what you have learned conceptually about the subjects studied and what you have learned personally about yourself as a person, student, and Christian. You do not need a cover sheet for this assignment. Just simply use the heading “Memo to Myself” and begin writing. You are free to write from a first person perspective and in an informal style covering between 3-4 pages, double-spaced, in 12-point font type like Times New Roman.
Some helpful starter phrases that might prompt your reflection and writing are:
“As I think back across the eight weeks of the course, I now see that . . .”
“This course has prompted me to ask . . .”
“After giving it some thought, I think I would have to say that . . .”
