In what ways does media exploit women’s bodies/sexuality (e.g. in film, television, video games like Grand Theft Auto, Lara Croft, Music videos, advertising, etc.)? Provide examples and support these with two acknowledged sources
What are the messages being reinforced through these media portrayals/exploitations of women? Provide examples and support these with sources.
In what ways do gender, race, and class impact these media portrayals of women (refer to the intersectionality thinkpiece, as well as the Crenshaw-Williams TEDtalk videos, and from your own research)?
Finally, are there empowering representations of women in media? If yes, provide examples. If no, what would be your solution?
