You will also need the Work Breakdown Structure you created previously, as it serves as the content for this assignment. Please update the WBS with the grade feedback you received before proceeding.
Steps:
Utilizing the WBS you created in a previous assignment, as well as the time estimates you determined in the Gantt, create a budget estimate as follows:
Download the above Excel sheet and save it with your last name replacing “LastName”.
In cell B2, add your full name after “Prepared by:”.
In cell D2, add a function that displays today’s date.
In Cells A6:A24, add the contents of your corrected tabular WBS. You should have at least enough items to fill the provided space. If you need more space, please add rows as needed. Your WBS should have six categories and at least two items each per category, if the WBS assignment was completed as instructed.
In the Labor Hours (B) column, input the number of hours for each activity you scheduled in the Gantt chart.
In column C, input the cost per hour for each labor activity. Be creative with these numbers. You do not have to research exact numbers; just put something reasonably realistic.
In column D, utilize the appropriate formula to multiply column B’s labor hours by column C’s cost per hour.
In column E, input the non-labor costs for each row, as appropriate. These costs are typically materials, and you can be creative.
In column F, utilize a simple formula to add the Labor Total column to the Non-Labor column for each row.
In the Subtotal cell, use the SUM function to calculate the subtotal for the Total Cost column.
In the Reserves cell, input any reserve values as appropriate.
In the Total cell, use a simple addition formula to calculate the Subtotal and the Reserves.
For all calculations, use the appropriate cell references so that the sheet will automatically recalculate everything if we need to change any values.
If there are any assumptions you need to make to come up with the values, please type them into the cell below the word Assumptions.
