My daughter took a summer accounting course at Purdue. She has already failed this course once last fall, this is her second try. Now she got a grade of 66.6 in this course, which does not meet requirements for her major, which is ‘Marketing’, within the Daniel School of Business. We are asking the college to retroactively let her withdraw from this course so that she can take it again in fall, and still stay in the school of management. If not, she will have to change her major and possible the school within Purdue.
The retroactive withdrawal form asks for a personal statement. This is the personal statement I need. We are already behind the withdrawal dates , we never intended to withdraw as my daughter thought she would pass the course. This withdrawal request is after the semester is over and grades have been assigned ( summer 2024).
Here’s what Purdue asks of the withdrawal personal statement :
1. Clearly and concisely state why you were unable to initiate the registration change request by the established university deadline.
2. https://www.cpp.edu/studentsuccess/oss/documents/rwsuggestionsforpreparingyourrequest_07272017.pdf
3. I would like to send additional email attachments to show what my daughter did and why she has to withdraw. She basically got 74 in the summer but because she missed one assignment, she now has 66.6. She gets disability accommodations from the DRC office but those were not applied. She requested the teacher and the DRC office but everyone said that the disability accommodations did not get applied as she didn’t distribute to the teacher on time. Because of this she is getting a failing grade and has to withdraw.
