In our course, you are learning a variety of strategies for enhancing your reading, research, argumentation, analysis, and writing strategies and techniques to develop your essays. You will participate in a peer review with your classmates to gain feedback on your draft ideas. Your PRJE Critique #1 reflects the fundamentals you have learned and your ability to organize your ideas to support a clear and convincing argument for your essay assignment. Argumentation is a process of engaging our creativity and imagination, understanding how our own perspectives and experiences influence our writing, and learning how to recognize our biases to develop minimally subjective and convincing written arguments for diverse readers. As part of our writing process, this first essay assignment will necessitate a comparison/contrast between two different PRJE articles on your Semester Project topic.

Assignment Instructions:
Include the following content in your PRJE Critique #1:
Original title
Introduction to your semester project topic and research question
Introduction to the two PRJE articles you will compare/contrast
Clear, Convincing Thesis (central topic, purpose for writing about it, and main aspects analyzed in your research)
Body paragraphs describing at least one main idea that connects directly to your thesis
Integration and synthesis of evidence from PRJE article(s) to help support your main ideas
Effective evaluation of the two PRJE articles – include identification of the author’s rhetorical strategies and reasoning (e.g., inductive, deductive)
A clear Conclusion that recaps your argument and what you were able to prove in your essay development
Revisions to essay draft from Peer Review Workshop
Final edits to draft for submission
Properly formatted essay draft following MLA formatting
Properly formatted Works Cited page following MLA guidelines
Final draft is 2 pages min.
