Assignment Instrcutions : This is a short reflective paper (no more than 3 pages, double-spaced) about you and your personal leadership style from your own 
perspective. In addition, you are required to ask a friend and/or colleague their perception of 
your leadership style. Be sure to include their feedback in your paper. It can be just as simple as 
a sentence or two. There is no maximum number of words. Just be sure to respond to the 
bulleted items. This is not a research paper but a short informed reflection of your leadership 
style based upon your own perception along with application of course reading material from 
your text – especially from (but not exclusively) chapter 4.
To receive maximum points, you must apply/integrate some of the leadership theory that you 
have learned during the course from the text and/or other sources that relate to leadership. Reflect upon the opportunities that you have had to lead in a formal or informal situations. For 
example, as chair of a ministry; a club; community organization; a team or your family reunion committee. 
Or, you could be a team leader for a group in one of your classes at school.
When writing your reflections, please include the following:
1 – What is my leadership style like? For example, servant leader, transformational, etc.
2 – What are my leadership qualities that I can build upon?
3 – What are areas that I can build upon to become a more effective leader?
4 – How can I apply conceptual material learned in this course in my real life now and/or in 
the future?
5 – How has my gender, ethnicity, national culture influenced me as I think about leadership?
6 – How will I develop further as a leader?
7 – What might hinder me from being the kind of leader that I dream of becoming?
Grading Rubric: This assignment will be graded based upon the following criteria:
Completeness: All requirements completed ((90-100%); most completed (89-80%); some 
completed (79-70%); or, incomplete (69-60%).
Application/Links to Course Readings and/or Additional Research: Excellent analysis of 
your style with clearly documented application/links to course reading material (and/or 
outside reading) 90-100%; Good Analysis with documented application/links to material 
read (89-80%); Limited Analysis and documented application/links to any readings (79-
70%); Incomplete Analysis and links to any readings (69-60%).
