Complete instructions and data files are attached. Be sure to read the Additional Clarification document as well.
You will need to provide 3 files that correct in order to receive full credit for this assignment:
SQL script that I may paste directly into SQLiteonline.com and obtain the results. Any code that should not be used must be commented or else the code will not run without modification.
csv file with the results from the staging table after you perform the ETL
Memo using the attached template stating what was done along with the checksum value you received
ETL SQL File Clarification and Tips on Selecting All Table
In the past you have pasted your code within the Word document for this assignment I want just the SQL code in a separate file. Please see an example .txt or .sql file below. Notice it only contains the SQL code. If you have comments you want to make sure that you make them comments in your code or else the code will not work correctly with modification causing a 50% reduction in the assignment grade.
Tips on Selecting Data from Final Table for Export
After you create your table and insert the data from all the tables that you imported, you can right click on the final table and then select SELECT (Show table). This will display all of the data in the table like you see on the right.
Once all the data is showing, you are now ready to export your table data. You may do so by click on Export on the top and selecting CSV like you see below.
Checking your work
When you complete this assignment you want to review your output from your csv file to ensure that you have actual data, because if there is an typo in your code you will have text from the code versus the actual data from the table. Your csv file should have the results from your script running not the checksum number. Check the csv file to ensure that you have actual data from the tables versus a text value based on the SELECT statement. The INSERT and SELECT statement field names must match or else either the table will not be created or the data in the table will be text versus the values found in the yearly tables. If you have questions please ask and do not wait until the last minute, because things happen (e.g., technology outages, etc.) and you will not have enough time to ask questions.
