Intro Paragraph:
Briefly introduce the disability you are focusing on.
Identify the common characteristics of the disability
Identify the prevalence of this disability (make sure this is current).

Subsequent Paragraphs:
Describe the common needs of children diagnosed with the disability you chose. If unmet, how does the disability impact the child’s development and academic achievement? Be specific and provide examples.
Identify the type of curriculum that should be implemented to support the academic needs of the child. What other accommodations should be made (one-on-one aide, physical/curriculum accommodations) and why? How do these accommodations support the child’s academic and developmental progress? Be specific and provide examples.
Describe what interventions should be present inside and outside of the classroom and why. Identify who should be a part of implementing the interventions you identified and how the child’s development can be negatively impacted when collaboration is not present. Be specific and provide examples.
Conclusion Paragraph:
Explain why it is important to understand the specific characteristics of the disability of the child before implementing interventions and support inside and outside of the classroom.
Explain the detrimental impact on the child’s developmental and academic progress when appropriate interventions and support are not provided to the child and the child’s family.
