Hello Scholars,
We are almost at the end of the semester and each of you have already successfully completed all the assignments that has set a strong foundation. This Final Research Project will assist you in developing critical thinking skills, understanding current issues from a macro international perspective, including engaging in social justice and advocacy to confront human rights violations on a global scale as a Human Service Specialist.
This project is your FINAL, so do a great job!
Human rights include the right to life and liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to work and education, and many more. Everyone is entitled to these rights, without discrimination.
Final Research Project Instructions:
The first thing you will need to do is go to the BCC website, look for the “Library” tab and research for articles by clicking the BCC Library http://www.bcc.cuny.edu/library/#1597758562052-73f4c58a-9316.
For your final, You will select an international / national human rights violation that you are interested in. Find a good video that explains your selection in the BCC Library list of Resources online and / or utube, share the link for my viewing at the end of your research paper and complete a 2-3 page research paper with a cover page, articles cited; including everything indicated below. Be as creative as possible!
Again, your paper should have a cover page (with a related image attached), work-cited page, Intro, body and conclusion.
You will explore the human rights violation conducting a literature review (select only 2 articles from the BCC Library), and then explore international human rights legislation (such as a UN human rights treaty or international humanitarian law under the websites I share below), related policy and the effects the policy has had on the human rights violation.
(Consider visiting one of these websites:
United Nations at www.UN.org, Human Rights Watch at www.hrw.org, the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights at www.globallabourrights.org/, Amnesty International at www.amnesty.org).
You will prepare a 2-3 page research paper summarizing findings, resources and sources as your Final project.
Please submit this before or by 05 /20 / 2024 on blackboard for my review so I can grade the Final assignment with your video link.
Your paper can be 2-3 pages long, 12 pt font size, with cover page with an image that supports your topic ( also your full name and date on cover page), you will have your written assignment in a standard format that has an “introduction -body – conclusion”, and then you will have a work cited page attached MLA format. Once you complete the entire project it will turn out to be 4-5 pages in total (if not more).
