o Describe problems this client is experiencing and presenting with (since you don’t have diagnostic training yet, please keep this simple…)
o Based on their (hypothetical) “presentation,” briefly describe anything notable that could be reflected in their MSE
Explain how you would utilize the counseling assessment process:
o How would you select an appropriate test? (Consider the test selection process, including stages of change, the pp, the client’s demographics, assessment access, etc.)
o Please identify at least one symptom checklist and one personality inventory that could be useful for this client.
o What is your rationale behind the assessments you selected? *These must be assessments we learned in class or that were described in the course text (consider their purpose, what you’re trying to understand, their psychometrics, practicality, etc.).
o What are the possible limitations of these assessments that you’d want to be mindful of? (These should be SPECIFIC of each evaluation, i.e., please don’t provide a description that could apply to just any assessment)
o How would the results of the selected assessments be useful? (i.e., what would they tell you, and how could the results inform the counseling process?)
o Based on the (potential) assessment results, what recommendations might you provide for this client moving forward?
