This week′s discussion topic asks us to discuss a proposed dissertation topic, including what we are looking to study and why. After much consideration, I believe I have zoned in on a topic of interest. My proposed dissertation topic is “What is the impact of emotional intelligence and leadership style on employee engagement and retention among young professionals with postgraduate degrees.” However, I’m unsure if I want to focus on young professionals with postgraduate degrees or just professionals with postgraduate degrees. I may even drop young professionals and postgraduate degrees altogether and focus on the impact of emotional intelligence and leadership style on employee engagement and retention. However, this research is particularly relevant for organizations that employ young professionals with postgraduate degrees, as it aims to understand the factors that influence their engagement and retention.
I would appreciate receiving feedback from all of you regarding my current proposed dissertation topic. I have always been fascinated by the influence of emotional intelligence and leadership style on employee engagement and retention. I believe that this subject is relevant and has the potential to benefit organizations grappling with challenges related to employee engagement and retention. When selecting a dissertation topic, I wanted to choose one that would help organizations through additional research.
