Miguel,
Great start to the class with your personal experience in practice. When various departments get into disagreements with how money should be spent in the workplace it will definitely cause turmoil. Each department will want different things as needs will be specific as you stated. This is why budgets are important in departments and strong leadership to know when and where those funds should go to. Great work on your plan of intervention and getting the issue resolved.
Conflict is everywhere in our lives. It is unavoidable, we experience it at home, out in the world and at work. We must learn first to recognize conflict before we can resolve it. Conflict can come to us in many forms. Wherever there is human interaction, there are bound to be differences in personality, communication style, and conduct which inevitably leads to conflict. These differences are particularly true for work environments that involve mentally and physically stressful tasks, long hours, and proximity to others, which is why healthcare settings like hospitals and clinics are prime locations for workplace conflict to develop.
Conflict may arise for a variety of reasons, but in healthcare, many unique factors contribute to the development of friction; including emotionally and physically demanding labor, staff shortages, long hours, rapid and frequent industry changes, integration of technology, patient perception of how care should be delivered, financial strain for the institution, etc.
The following video shows the different types of conflicts.

Now that you have seen the different types of conflicts with some great examples. How do you see these conflicts affecting the healthcare setting. Give an example for each type of conflict. They do not need to be from experience, just an example of each situation.
·         Internal Conflict (Intrapersonal conflict or Man vs Self)
·         External Conflict
·        Man vs Man (Interpersonal conflict)
·        Man vs Nature (Natural Disasters)
·        Man vs Society
·       Intragroup conflict (Conflict within a group or unit)
·       Intergroup conflict (Conflict between different groups)
