This assignment will give you the opportunity to write down some of your ideas for your lesson plan. This will allow me the opportunity to give you feedback before submitting your rough draft and final lesson plan. You will only be completing this brainstorm before your first lesson plan.
After reading the MicroTeach directions and expectations, download the lesson plan brainstorming template attached and begin to plan your lesson. Note, on the attached document, only the sections in green need to be completed for the brainstorming assignment grade.

Begin by choosing a grade level you feel comfortable with, then:
1. Choose a children’s book/poem/text excerpt that is developmentally appropriate for the grade level you chose.
2. Choose a subject area (math, science, reading, etc.) you would like to teach for this lesson.
3. Look up the standards for the grade level of your lesson so you can choose the specific skill. Use the CPALMS website to find an appropriate standard, as you did in Module 3.
4. Come up with a TEACHER-CENTERED activity to do for your first lesson (refer to chapter 5).
5. Complete the lesson plan template with your BEGINNING ideas. This is a rough draft! It is ok to make mistakes here but do not leave any sections blank.
Note: If you would like to start thinking about your ideas (and get my feedback) for the sections not indicated in green, you can. These sections will not count toward your final grade for this assignment.
