Students will reflect upon their
attainment of the baccalaureate nurse’s role at graduation by detailing
achievement of the six RN-BSN Program Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and the
four National League for Nursing BSN Competencies. Include specific examples from work or
practicum experiences that illustrate the student’s achievement of each of the
six SLOs and four competencies. Each
outcome and competency should be rated using one of the following terms: strongly agree, agree, disagree, or strongly
disagree. If students do not believe
that they have achieved one or more of the outcomes or competencies, they
should state that and then describe how they can/will integrate them into their
future practice. Students should
describe how the achievement of these outcomes have assisted in the refinement
of their personal philosophy of nursing since the beginning of the RN-BSN
program by describing the following components:
·
The student’s definition of nursing
·
The essential rights and responsibilities of the
nurse
·
Definitions of recipient of care, care environment,
health, wellness, and illness
·
The congruence (or discordance) of student’s
updated personal philosophy with the philosophy of the facility where they
practice
·
The student’s development of the core values as a
nurse, or those that they believe are essential in professional nursing. Discuss whether Midway University’s Core
Values and the Core Values of the student’s workplace/practicum site align with
their values.
Ensure the following are
addressed in the paper:
Description of refinements of personal
philosophy of nursing:
Definition of
nursing
Essential
rights and responsibilities of the nurse
Definition of
recipient of care
Definition of
care environment
Definitions of

Five to seven pages total length of the paper (not including title page). Students
should integrate content from at least three articles from peer-reviewed
journals (published within the last five years) that highlight the development
