In this assignment you are going to put yourself in the shoes of a group leader who is leading the group in the ending stage. As you answer the questions make sure that your answers are thorough, especially if the question calls for description of the group process.

The termination of a group is a particularly stressful time for the group members. How would you open the last session group session? Briefly describe what you would say in your opening statement.
Many of the group members expressed that they did not feel that they could continue their progress without the support of the group. How would you explore these feelings of the group members further? What questions would you ask?

One of the situations that can occur in the final session is a group member may distance themselves. Imagine it is the final session and one of your group members is very withdrawn, has his head down and is not participating in the discussion. What would you do?
