This are two very different things:
This one is a reflection on the quantitative literacy from the previous assignment:
1-Reflection on Quantitative Literacy Exercise: After you finish answering the questions in the assignment, sit back and reflect on the experience of using quantitative data to answer historical questions.
Working with the data: Once you accessed the statistical data, what strategies did you use to make meaning of the data as it related to the questions? Did you need to do further research to use the data in the questions? If so, what did you do?
Limitations: What did you expect to learn, but didn’t? What didn’t you see here? What couldn’t you find out?
Questions not asked: What most struck you about the statistics that does not relate to the specific questions being asked? What are some significant historical questions besides those in this assignment that the statistics can answer?
The value of quantitative reasoning: Why is data analysis important? how do skills apply even if you are not going into a career where you are not using data analysis?
2-Just pick a topic you like from all the previous assignments you have done to do this: Submit your topic proposal with a one-paragraph explanation of what you plan to research, why
the topic is significant, and what you think you may discover in the process of writing this final
paper. You should also use this moment to communicate if you are nervous about any aspect of
this process.
